Real France with super hosts

Janine & Jean-Louis were wonderful, gentle hosts who made us very welcome. Ask to look at the photos of their renovation - amazing job! All materials of the period style have been used. When you know what the house(s) was like (a ruin!) you will appreciate the fabulous job they have done. We had table d’hotes and asked if we could have vegetarian or chicken in advance. Janine prepared the most delicious red squash soup, Chicken Gaston Gerard (a Dijon speciality) and a rhubarb dessert - all using home grown produce. A kir apero was most welcome and a pichet of red wine included. Excellent meal, very good value. The house is very remote but if you like walking, take the 3km walk to Rochefort to see the chateaux.

Super bâtiment mais aménagement sommaire

Beetje kil met al dat steen binnen, misschien gezellig als de openhaard aan staat, maar anders donker en kil. Oubollig qua inrichting en erg smal bed. Ontbijt was goed maar beperkt. Lieve aardige gastvrouw.

Accueil très sympathique. Nos hôtes nous reçoivent avec simplicité, efficacité, convivialité et "pas de chichi". La table du petit déjeuner est très agréable. Nos hôtes semblent avoir un passé riche d'experiences, d'actions et d'annecdotes.On a l'impression de rendre visite à une famille lointaine. On se sent très bien à la Brevonnière. Merci beaucoup !

This is a wonderful gem nestled in Beaulieu. The hosts are beautiful people in a beautiful place.

That I couldn't stay longer. I was only there for three days. It is well worth staying longer if you have the time. It's a place of tranquillity where you can really disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

De gastvrijheid van de gastvrouw en gastheer. De accommodatie was prima, alleen het bed was wat klein.

Bel emplacement dans un village pittoresque entouré par une nature magnifique. Hôtesse et hôte sympathiques, vraie nourriture. On nous a proposé une chambre plus grande car nous avons voyagé avec deux chiens - très attentionné.

A haven in the forest.

A perfect stop for our family. Exceptionally clean room perfect for 5 of us. Plenty of bed options, cot, sheets, duvets, towels, whatever we needed. Beautiful forest views surround the small village. We had a wonderful meal and breakfast was perfect. Very welcoming hosts who clearly devote themselves to their guests. Would recommend.

Bijzonder prettige en rustige locatie, zeer vriendelijke en hartelijke gastheer en gastvrouw. Lekkere maaltijden verzorgd door de gastvrouw.

The only minor suggestion we have to make is that it would be appreciated if the bathroom towels could be larger - to bring them into line with other accommodation we have experienced in France. However, it was a real privilege to stay at La Brevonniere and we loved its ambience!

Lieu de départ pour de bonne promenade dans la forêt

Petit-déjeuner très bien, nos hôtes ont été accueillants et respectueux. C'est un lieu où l'on vient pour trouver le calme et la pleine nature en toute simplicité : petite rivière au fond du jardin et vaste forêt qui entoure le petit village. A découvrir aussi le lavoir couvert juste à côté du logement.
